Behind the Scenes with Liam James Collins, Co-founder of The Coaching Masters

Many entrepreneurs who have achieved success may often have to undergo trying circumstances and discomfort to achieve their ultimate goal.

They may not always come from a wealthy family or be gifted with a lofty inheritance. However, determination and drive enable them to make incredible strides.

For life coach and co-founder of The Coaching Masters, Liam James Collins, life has not always been easy. He shares his story of working multiple jobs which led him towards becoming a successful life coach.

Early Life in Essex

Liam James Collins was born in Kings College Hospital in South East London. He was born into a working-class family as the youngest of 3 kids with parents who worked various jobs to make ends meet. As a family, they didn’t even have much money, but Liam’s parents rarely allowed him to see that. When Liam was young, he moved from London to Essex. He would often get into fights and was bullied by the children in the neighborhood. He eventually learned to defend himself but also ended up hanging with the wrong crowd.

After realizing that he needed to change, Liam buckled down and began to focus on his education and ended up becoming a star pupil. He eventually realized that he could change his fate and create anything that he focused on. This is where Liam’s thirst for ambition, success and recognition started.

Liam thought that it would be smooth sailing towards money, success, and freedom from then on. But unfortunately, it wasn’t. Even though Liam graduated from High School with glowing grades, he jumped from college to college, perplexed about what he wanted to do with his life.

A series of odd jobs and ideas

Throughout his life, Liam did many things to make ends meet. He opened a Pro Wrestling School, which he called the British Wrestling Evolution (BWE). This became Liam’s first official business. It was minimal and not very profitable, but Liam organized and operated everything on his own.

From there, he would move on to pursue a passion that he didn’t ever talk about or tell anyone. Liam quit wrestling to focus on becoming an actor.

Liam moved back to London and spent three years at Drama School and quickly became a professional actor. He acted on the London Stage and also got significant roles in TV and Film. As an actor, Liam played Bob Sales in ‘D-Day’ and Tommy in ‘The Crimson Field’, both films aired on BBC1. He also played the part of Polska in the movie ‘Little Favor’ opposite Benedict Cumberbatch.

One of Liam’s most significant opportunities as an actor came when he was offered the chance to body double for Tom Hardy as Bane in the major Hollywood film, ‘Batman: The Dark Knight Rises.’ In this film, Liam spent time with A-list stars such Tom Hardy, Michael Cain, Morgan Freeman, Christian Bale and Ann Hathaway.

Eventually, however, the acting roles dried up, and Liam found himself delivering mail to Tom Hardy as a mailman instead of acting with him. After three years of delivering mail, Liam eventually quit his job and became a life coach after much studying and training.

The birth of The Coaching Masters

When Liam thought things were starting to get better, his father committed suicide. This event nearly killed Liam. He felt anger, guilt, sadness, and confusion. Liam’s Dad also had a twin brother, James, with whom he was also really close. James died from cancer precisely 80 days after Liam’s father died.

He eventually met his now business partner Lewis Taylor via social media, and they met up and merged businesses to form the Coaching Masters. Despite the tough times, Liam pushed through the darkness on a quest to better his own life and to help others. Over the last five years, he has become an NLP Trainer, Coach to Celebrities, TV Coach on MTV, and work as a Peak Performance Coach for Amazon.
