Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 shows off several sounds and styles. There are rippling, minimal club anthems like “Risky,” on which she casually flexes and preaches the joys of living recklessly. There are lush, lusty tracks like “Backseat,” which finds Saweetie and Lourdie embracing the magnetism of desire. Saweetie also uses the EP as a chance to flex her taste, hopping on already-hot tracks like Bbyafricka’s “Baby Mama Coochie” and Loui’s infectious TikTok hit “Talkin’ Bout.” Throughout the EP, she weaves together winding bars and hilarious punchlines, demonstrating that she’s become not only one of music’s most engaging personalities, but a gifted stylist as well. There are few rappers working with as much range.
