Chris Sarchet Bell grew up in Burnley, unfortunately losing his father at a young age. He struggled through life’s choices with a determined mindset, thriving in a lonely atmosphere. He survived through it all and came out with a positive mindset to spread happiness and joy to fun-seekers and music enthusiasts like him. It is this motivation that drives his company, Shutdown Events. Shutdown Events was established in 2014 in Chris’s home town, Burnley.
Nothing good comes easy
Across the United Kingdom, where there are strict laws concerning party laws involving minors, Chris has fashioned an idea to redefine the meaning of fun in parties without the alcohol and drug abuse involved. In the United Kingdom, if an establishment is caught serving alcohol to a minor, they can be shut down and fined exorbitant amounts. According to Chris, his brand was created to solve the problem of redefining fun across the country. He states that he yearned to ‘Educate kids that they don’t have to drink to have a good time’.
After years of hard work, Chris’s establishment has earned the trust of the citizens and the police institutions alike. He garners popularity and support on social media and his mails are replete with invitation request from more clients across the country asking him to visit their cities on such a high demand via a weekly basis.
Tours and Spotlight
Shutdown Events originally centred on mature adults before Chris changed the direction that the brand was heading. Because of the adult themes that are usually associated with the social activities that the nightlife business designates, Chris had to work hard to garner the trust of parents and the police society. Within the first two years, Chris’s company became the leading U18s brand in the United Kingdom. As his brand grew, so did his influence. He toured across the country, garnered public attention, and was able to bring celebrities to his shows.
Shutdown Events has hosted paint and foam parties, CO2 and Confetti parties across ten cities nationwide. Losing his father at a young age was difficult for the innovative business mogul and his success to this point has been led by his dedication and focus.
With a great body of workers beside him, Shutdown can boast of fewer hurdles from the civil and individual institutions alike in running their business. This established trust is one of the core values of Shutdown. Chris recognizes “Success to me is brand recognition, hearing great feedback, and being able to look after my family”. Shutdown’s goal is to tour across fifteen cities nationwide by the end of 2021s.
Chris’s dedication took him four years before making a penny from his brand. He looks back through his rough beginnings and comments ‘No matter what hurdles have been thrown at me over the last 6 years I always get back up and keep going and my determination is exactly why I am where I am today”.
