Netizen’s dislike for the singer didn’t really matter to lizzo as she never said she’s trying to lose weight. Although, she has been posting her vegan lifestyle and workout before that didn’t result in her fans blaming her. So far, Lizzo weight loss smoothie has become the beacon for so many over-weight girls around the world who are ashamed of sharing their bad experiences about body shaming.
Unlike the other examples of body shaming, Lizzo didn’t hold back or try to cover her body in a variety of expensive clothes. She could have made enough money from singing anyway but she stood for the case that is to “Love your body no matter its size”.
Lizzo Body-Shaming on Social Media

In a September 2019 interview with Billboard magazine, Lizzo spoke about the influx of negativity directed her way. “I’ve always had to turn haters into congratulators,” said the “Good as Hell” singer. “That’s the thing with my songs and my live shows: I’ve never lost that mentality of ‘I have to win you over,’ and I’m never going to because I didn’t learn that way. I have muscle memory in this.”
It was January 2020 when Lizzo made a decision to deactivate her Twitter account. When she was asked the reason she typed in “Too Many Trolls” which clearly depicts that the modern generation is in a complicated body-shaming rut! “Yeah, I can’t do this Twitter s**t no more… too many trolls,” the singer tweeted. “I’ll be back when I feel like it.”
The account was updated by the management but she is not seen on Twitter after that, however, Lizzo weight loss photos can be viewed on her Instagram profile. Another incidence happened in the same month of January when Lizzo had to take a pile of criticism from Jillian Michaels as it was coming on The Biggest Loser, this is where Lizzo appeared on BuzzFeed News “Am to DM”. Jillian Michael questioned why Lizzo was getting so many endorsements from the host as he starts singing about Lizzo body positivity movement. The celebrity trainer further asked “Why are we celebrating her body? Why does it matter?” “Why aren’t we celebrating her music? ‘Cause it isn’t gonna be awesome if she gets diabetes.”

Danielle Brooks on Singers Lizzo Weight Loss and Detox Diet
There is no shame in endorsing a diet plan which you follow. Surely, Lizzo did the same thing and it caused backlashes from the fans and critics. In these hard times, Danielle Brooks (the Orange Is the New Black star) defended Lizzo decision to the detox diet.
For many years, Brooks has been a supporter for body positivity and even created a hashtag in support of #voiceofthecurves.
“I’ve muted my voice for a few months now out of shame. I felt shameful of gaining weight,” she wrote on Instagram. “Even though I brought a whole human into the world, I still felt shameful because I wasn’t able to maintain my normal body weight post-pregnancy. And a year later I have only lost roughly 20 lbs. of a 60-lb. weight gain. I was quiet in hopes to post that snatch back photo like so many celebrities miraculously do.”
I detoxed my body and I’m still fat. I love my body and I’m still fat. I’m beautiful and I’m still fat. These things are not mutually exclusive,” she said. “To the people who look to me, please do not starve yourselves. I did not starve myself. I fed myself greens and water and fruit and protein and sunlight.”
“You don’t have to do that to be beautiful or healthy. That was my way. You can do life your way,” Danielle added. “Remember, despite anything anyone says or does ✨DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH YOUR BODY!!!
Many celebrities are facing the same backlash from their fans and watchers but it’s not like they don’t care about any of them. Some of them actually don’t, for example, British singer Adele caused the same stir earlier in 2020 at Saturday Night Live. She also posted a picture of herself after weight loss.
Having more bodyweight or being fat isn’t a crime but when it strikes your body systems with harm, you can do a thing or two like our favorite Lizzo!
It’s not just about Lizzo weight loss or her diet plan, but every Chubby girl in this world should be able to make herself healthy choices and post it on social media without getting backlashed. Lizzo on this particular note says “I feel it’s important to share the journey, as a reminder that we are not alone, we ain’t always got it together, and that we are ALL works in progress.”
