Welcome Edwrds! Thank you for chatting with us today! We would love to learn more about your story and what pushed you to pursue music?

Hello!! Thank you for having me. I’m a 19 year old music artist from Long Island, New York. I make music that reflects my emotions and plan to inspire people to live in the moment. Dance pushed me to pursue music. Dance needs music to set the mood, drop the beat and create the incentive to move. After years of dancing I wanted to create different styles of music and create various types of beats. I wanted to make music that would make people not only feel a certain way, but would give them the ability to possibly dance to. I’m also really good at letting my heart speak it’s truth so I figured I may as well let it have some fun.

How would you define success?

I believe that success lies in being happy. That feeling of being exactly where you are supposed to be when you’re doing something you’re passionate about is success.

Where did you grow up and how did the shape the music you create?

I grew up on Long Island. If you know anything about Long Island; it’s one wild place. There’s so many people trying to become somebody important. When I wasn’t at school dreading my existence, I was working on music with friends and making crazy memories.

The party scene heavily influenced songs I was making by allowing me to experiment with trap, pop, and electronic music. Creating with the people around me allowed me to blend genres and moods to finally start finding my own sound. I’ve been extremely proud of my recent work because it blows everything the people have come to love out of the water. I’m excited to show the world a fresh energy.

You are an advocate for mental health – share a little more about that with us?

Being someone who has battled with anxiety and depression I know how low things can get. I used to think there was no hope for me. Luckily after graduating highschool early to chase my passion for making music, I found a reason to live. With time and experience, I came to understand that life isn’t meant to be lived always happy. Our emotions allow us to feel and learn. I now create music to show everyone that there’s beauty in the chaos. Keep going!

Now that live shows are picking up – do you have a pre-show routine?

My pre-show routine involves getting my head in the clouds, a nice big stretch, running through choreography, and reminding myself that I am meant to put on a show!

Who has had the most influence on your music?

It’s hard to pick one person because I am heavily influenced by many artists. I tend to really gravitate towards different artists depending on my current energy. If I’m going to name anyone right now I would say Brockhampton. I admire how out of the box they think and experiment with different sounds.

Where can we check out your music and find you on social media?

Use to check out my music and follow me @edwrds999 on all platforms.
