How to choose your next washing machine

There are different varieties of washing machines available in India. The most important factors that a person consider while buying one are its capacity, type, features and function. Some washing machines come with unique features like hot water wash, steam wash, WiFi connectivity, etc.

The two different types of loading available in washing machines are the front loading washing machine and top-loading washing machine. Washing machines are again classified according to their functions, and they are fully automatic washing machines and semi-automatic washing machines. The best place to know the different types and functions of a washing machine is livelyhomes.

Types of Washing Machine

Fully Automatic Washing Machine

A fully automatic washing machine makes the washing process much easier with minimal human intervention. Generally, it comes with only one washtub. The only thing you need to do while washing clothes in a fully automatic washer is putting the clothes in it and starting the machine. Everything else is taken care of by the machine itself.

The washing machine takes the required amount of water by itself. Some washing machine even has an automatic detergent dispenser in which it automatically senses the laundry dirt and dispenses the detergent for washing the clothes. You don’t have to pull out the clothes from one tub to another for drying. It washes and dries the clothes in the same washtub.

A fully automatic washing machine is again classified into two on the type of loading, and they are.

Front Loading Washing Machine

The front-loading washing machine is quite advanced, and it comes with a lot of features. The clothes are washed in a tumble motion in a front load washing machine. The washtub in the front load washing machine sits horizontally, and the clothes are loaded from the front side. Front-load washing machines are the most advanced among the washing machines, and most of these models come with a WiFi feature, Steam wash and numerous wash programs.

Top Loading Washing Machine

Top load washing machines have vertical washtubs, and the clothes are loaded from the top side. The washing and drying of clothes are done in the same tub, so you need not pull out the clothes between the wash cycles. Everything is automatic in a top-loading washing machine. Also, it takes the required water and cleans the clothes by itself without any manual intervention. The washer is budget-friendly than a front loading washing machine, and you don’t get a lot of features like a front-loading washing machine.

Semi-Automatic Washing Machine

Unlike fully automatic washing machines, Semi-Automatic Washing Machines comes with two tubs, one for washing and another for drying. Semi-automatic washing machines are considered entry-level washing machines and are economical.

Semi-automatic washing machines require a lot of human intervention. The washed clothes will have to be manually transferred from the washtub to the drying tube for drying the clothes. The water will have to be manually set by you for washing the clothes, and the water will have to be manually drained by you after washing the clothes. But they are a good bet for saving the electricity costs and conserving the water.

Front-load washing machines are the most expensive of the three, and the semi-automatic washing machine is the most economical when it comes to pricing. But in the long run, the front load washing machine can easily compensate the initial cost you paid by saving the electricity costs and water charges. You also get a lot of features and functions in a front load washing machine than its counterparts. So our take among the three washing machines would be a front load washing machine.
