Electronic pop artist Barrett Crake released the official music video for the acoustic version of his single, “Flying”. This is his first acoustic version of one of his original songs. The song was produced by Carlos Bricio of Abbey Road and musical arrangements were written by Alberto Cenci (piano), Raphael Sater (acoustic Guitars), and Jessica Heap (cello).
The song “Flying” was a song that was born out of Barrett’s insecurities as a capable songwriter. He wrote this song to end the feelings of doubt within himself. When he was in a writing session with his friend Tom, they aimed to create a power anthem for anyone that is struggling with self-confidence and believing in themselves.
Barrett had the honor of being able to record this track at Abbey Road. While shopping in London at Selfridges, there was an Abbey Road pop-up promotion happening where he went into the booth in the store. This is where he coincidentally met the producer, Carlos Bricio, and was invited to record his song there!
Barrett created this acoustic version to offer a different sonic perspective of the original dance pop track. This new interpretation is stripped back and raw, creating a more intimate feel for listeners. He hopes his fans can hear his story and take away the message: struggles are real, but if we make up our minds to do something, we can do anything.
“It was intimidating to record at Abbey Road in London, but thanks to producer Carlos Bricio, I felt right at home. Hearing the end result of this collaboration, I was blown away with the arrangements from all the talented musicians.” -Barrett Crake
