Ben Maier Announces New Track & Debut EP

Ben Maier has announced that he will share a new track entitled ‘You Can’t Have My Heart Because It’s Mine’ on the 28th of March. With BBC 6Music support on the Tom Robinson and Marc Riley shows already, this is the first in a series of singles that will culminate with the release of his debut EP which will be available via Crocodile Laboratories from the 26th of May 2021.

The ‘Welcome To My Nightmaier’ EP, produced by Toby Kidd (Douglas Hart, Amy Studt & Hatcham Social), will feature five compositions that see the North London singer songwriter turn his personal experiences of anxiety, OCD and heartbreak into riotous shots of irreverent 1970s pub rock energy.

Taking inspiration from the sheer unbridled punk commitment of the likes of Bazooka Joe, The Damned and The Lurkers, Maier’s passionately candid lyrics, delivered with a vocal style reminiscent of Lux Interior, twist tales of awkwardness, embarrassment and sheer mental discomfort into a joyous rock ‘n’ roll triumph.

Sweaty and sincere, ‘Welcome to My Nightmaier’ proves that fun can be found in the darkest of places and by dancing with our demons we can really get to the heart of the matter – what you perceive as your greatest weakness is, in fact, your greatest strength.

EP Track Listing:

01. ’Welcome To My Nightmaier’

02. ‘You Can’t Have My Heart Because It’s Mine’

03. ‘OCD’

04. ‘This Is Love’

05. ‘Out Of Darkness’

Ben Maier is set to play a handful of special live shows in and around London to coincide with the EP release in May – more details and dates to follow.
