Today we are pleased to join forces with the talented Leti Garza for the release of her new single “Crazy Border Madness,” a Mexican balada that features David Pulkingham’s clean guitar who offers a beautiful foundation for Leti’s vocals to sail clear. Grammy-award winning producer Michael Ramos’ solo accordion plays to the vision of a quiet campfire under a starry Texas sky, romantic and almost playful to counterbalance the tragic reason for this song’s birth. Additionally, the photo in the Soundcloud was taken from a list of photos on a Facebook site from a national protest to close a detention camp site for children (Homestead, Florida, May 10, Mother’s Day, May 2019. Photographer is unknown). All proceeds from the sales of this single and album will be donated to the Global Response Management – this organization is providing water, sanitation and hygiene solutions to the people at the border in Matamoros.
About the song, Garza comments
“Borderland is dedicated to the immigrant children and families at the US/Mexico border. They have endured and continue to endure life threatening harm, due to the policies and politics of our times.
We are all in danger of losing our humanity, if we decide to belittle or fall back on bad policies or old solutions. We have a responsibility, perhaps even an opportunity, at the border, to create solutions to a problem that has been present for many, many years. Let us take courageous steps and persevere to correct the course, and take leadership in the arena of protecting the families, especially, the children, at the border.”
