Today we are pleased to join forces with Cliff Beach for the first listen of his new EP W.A.J.A.K.F.S., a fantastic sonic venture into the heydays when R&B and pop music as a whole had this great blend of funky vibes in the form of Jamiroaqui and early Robin Thicke. Every song is just outbeat and will help bringing some joy to your life in the midst of these darkest days.
About the EP, Cliff comments
“Making this EP was one of the hardest, painstaking undertakings of my life. It almost broke many of us on the project, but in the end, we made a time capsule of what we were feeling at that moment. It is my most autobiographical work to date, and it tackles such complex issues as alcohol abuse and sobriety, regret, politics, systemic racism, and death. We all wish we could to get more moments with departed loved ones and leave a legacy and being remembered. This record is steeped in the stories of my familial heroes; my mom, my sister and my dad. They are all champions in their own right, if simply for making it through the adversities, trials and tribulations in life.
Their story is a part of my story. Music has the power to heal and the power to connect. It is our shared human experience that allows us to get through the tough times together as we have seen during the pandemic and beyond. We are very resilient, and our music is our catharsis.”
