“Lost” Alums Josh Holloway and J.J. Abrams set to Team Up for Upcoming HBO MAX Show “Duster”

Full disclosure time: My wife and I are currently sitting through our second viewing of nigh legendary television show Lost. I mention this only in the spirit of the above headline; along with a bevy of rich acting talent, actor Josh Holloway’s memorable turn as con-man grifter James “Sawyer” Ford was a scene-stealer among many other scene-stealers from the classic ABC drama about a group of crash survivors and their attempts to escape from a seemingly mystical island. If Lost is a small-screen version of Star Wars, then Holloway’s Sawyer character was that drama’s very own rendition of Han Solo. Yeah, Holloway was just that cool in the series. All of that out of the way, this fan of smoke monsters, Constants and washed-up junkie rock stars with a heart of gold was happy to discover via our Gilligan’s Island li’l buddies over at The Hollywood Reporter that the man who defined Lost cool – Josh Holloway – will be returning to the small screen. And he’s bringing a fellow Lost survivor with him.

Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams (Regarding Henry, Fringe, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens) has tapped one of the stars from the ever-popular show – Josh Holloway –  to headline an upcoming ongoing series from streamer HBO Max called Duster.

Duster is about a getaway driver for a crime organization located out in the Southwest during the 1970s. Holloway will play the lead role of the getaway driver. Duster is the brainchild of Abrams and LaToya Morgan (The Walking Dead, Shameless).

This latest bit of casting news caps off a busy time for Josh Holloway: The versatile thespian just wrapped the third season of popular series Yellowstone and he’s pulled in recent plum gigs in such shows as Colony and the rebooted series Amazing Stories.

Further details on Duster are vague at the moment: We know that the new series is being produced by Warner Bros. TV. Executive producing alongside Abrams and Morgan are Ben Stephenson of the famed Bad Robot production house.

Stay tuned for further news on Duster as it becomes available to us!
