Interview with Stafford Beats

Hi Stafford Beats! How are you?

I’m doing great!

Where are you from?

I am from Colorado Springs, Colorado.

What is your greatest inspiration for your music?

My music is heavily inspired by the artists I listen to currently – Blackbear, Kenny Beats, Mac Miller, Powfu, Juice WRLD, and many many more. I also take a lot of inspiration from music I listened to growing up, which was a mixture of rock, EDM, 90s pop, and hip hop. I use elements from all of these artists to create my own style while keeping the same energy.

What are 3 words that describe your music?

Sad, Versatile, Inspiring.

What is the hardest subject you’ve ever written about?

I don’t usually write music, but I find it most challenging to write about mental health and some of the deep conversational topics that I like to discuss face-to-face.

What are the challenges of being an artist?

Being a musician is a struggle sometimes. It’s a grind. It takes constant effort EVERY single day, and you really need to have the passion for it or you’ll get burnt out.

Are you planning on releasing new music soon?

Later in March, I’ll be releasing another single with JXVE and Easton Wes called “Rollercoasters”. In the near future, I also plan on creating a collaboration album with a variety of artists I have been working with recently.
