Off the heels of Aidan’s first single of 2021, “the end of the world,” the new track possesses Aidan’s trademarks – hauntingly beautiful lyrics and an ethereal tonality that emits a cinematic experience for the listener. While writing “the hills,” Aidan envisioned a dark masquerade ball, masked in mystery and draped in elegance. Beginning with staccato notes radiating from the orchestral strings, the song transports the listener to a sinister and self-indulgent place.
Of “the hills”, Aidan said “’the hills’ is a tongue in cheek song, highlighting the problem of how we’ve been made to view the world around us and the things we prioritize as a result. It’s about the glossy but dark, vicious side of Hollywood and the things people do to get further.”
