The moment you first hear Echolily’s  new track “Under the Clocks (Stay)” you feel it’s a classic love song. Regardless if you’re in a relationship at the moment or not, you vibe to it because it’s not one of those cheesy love songs people hate. It’s a beautiful, detached piece reminiscent of Sia’s laidback, esoteric style. Echolily, a young singer and songwriter from Melbourne, Australia, has a voice that’s smooth and electric. Sounds like she couldn’t care less, yet at the same time, ironically, manages to make it feel extremely personal and emotional.

But what we love even more about “Under the Clocks” is that aside from being an atypical love song, it’s also a clever introduction into this very talented artist’s work. Staying is a motif of the track, as its title suggests, and the haunting repetition of this one word engrains itself into your mind. It hooks you in and pretty soon, you find yourself addicted to this uber talented young artist. Whereas at first, you get the feeling that the “stay” is directed at a lover, it could just as easily be directed at you, the listener. Because once you’ve gotten a taste of Echolily’s beautiful, seductive tone and sound, you’ll definitely be staying on as a loyal fan for years to come.

This is an artist who manages to breathe life and a touching sense of intimacy into anything and everything she does. Her music is light, almost like a secretive lullaby, and it flows well in almost any setting. An evening alone, sipping on a glass of wine? Perfect. A romantic afternoon spent with your significant other? Yep. A night out on the town, dancing and drinking with your friends? Echolily’s got you covered on that front, too.

And that’s the reason why you’ll be telling everyone you know about this insanely talented artist – because it would be a crime to miss fantastic tracks such as “Under the Clocks (Stay)”.
