Today, multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Flo Chase is getting brutally honest with the upbeat earworm “Lies,” from his forthcoming debut album Toi. The catchy track is a slight departure from Chase’s two previous releases, “More of You” and “Everywhere With Me,” where the previous songs were love letters to loved ones left behind. “Lies” weaves a story of betrayal and the desire to move past it. The juxtaposition between lyrics and bright instrumentation demonstrates Chase’s range as an artist and brings much needed levity to a situation full of heartbreak. “Lies” is now available to stream HERE

“The melody and lyrics for “Lies” came together so quickly, I had 90% of the song written in one night!” shares Chase. “The lyrics touch on a previous toxic relationship but the bright and up-tempo feel of the song was a way for me to celebrate the idea of moving on and leaving this experience all behind.”

The official music video for “Lies” was filmed between Laguna Beach and Los Angeles Arts District and features several guest dancers, including Artyon and Arthur Celestine (America’s Got Talent, Dancing With The Stars, Little Big Shots) and Japanese dance duo Hilty and Bosch. Working with director Jacob Luevano, Chase strove to create a unique and fun experience for viewers but also showcase the multicultural power and picturesque image that can be found through dance and music in general. View the video for “Lies” HERE.

In addition to the release of “Lies,” Chase has unveiled the official track list for Toi. The 12 emotionally driven tracks are his most personal to date and reflect his experience of leaving everything behind to start fresh and embrace the unknown.

“I’ve been working on Toi for the past two years or so, since leaving Australia and moving to Los Angeles in early 2018,” shares Chase. “This is now the third country I have moved to. I won’t deny the fact that moving to a big city like Los Angeles has been challenging at times; yet music has once again become a major source of comfort and support and has, to some degree, brought up a sense of togetherness and made me feel closer to my loved ones.”

Toi was mixed by Kolton Lee (Kaleo, Foy Vance, Shania Twain, Niall Horan) and was mastered by GRAMMY Award winner Joe Laporta (Shawn Mendes, David Bowie, Foo Fighters, The Weeknd). Toi is now available for pre-sale and pre-save HERE
