The Best Ways to Quit Smoking

There was a point in the past when smoking was considered a glamourous habit. When we see older tv shows and movies all the actors are enjoying a smoke. We were accustomed to seeing a statuesque blonde with a tobacco cigarette in one hand and a martini glass in the other.

Until recent years it was just how you calmed down or passed the time. If you were out for drinks and dancing you would also typically enjoy a few tobacco cigarettes as well. Smoking was just part of everyday life.

Now there is proof that this not so glamorous habit can actually kill you. Tobacco cigarettes can cause severe medical problems. Cigarettes are so dangerous that it is the law in the United States that every pack must have a health warning printed right on the packaging.

Since it has become an irrefutable fact that tobacco cigarettes are dangerous, smokers have been demonized in several situations. There are some areas where you can not even smoke outside on public property.

The fact that it is dangerous and no longer socially acceptable to smoke tobacco cigarettes has led to many smokers trying to quit. This has proven to be very hard for most as nicotine is highly addictive. Also, the oral fixation is hard for many to give up.

There are several options when it comes to smoking cessation. Some are very traditional and others have just come around and gained popularity in the past few years.

Nicotine Patches and Gum

In the past, the most common way people quit was with help of nicotine patches and gum. These can be used in combination with each other or you could choose to just use one of them.

Most people use both when trying these options. The patches come in different size doses. These patches are like stickers—you peel off the backing to expose the adhesive and attach the patch to your bare skin. It gives you a steady dose of nicotine for a certain period of time. The idea is that you continue to lower your dosage over time until you no longer need them at all.

Different brands of gum offer different levels of nicotine. The idea with the gum is that you can take it quickly when you have a craving as it should satisfy both the craving for nicotine and the oral fixation attached to smoking.

Vapes and E-cigs

Over the last decades, vapes and e-cigs have grown in popularity. It has become a popular alternative for smoking. E-cigs normally use pre-filled cartridges. They are small and meant to give you the same sensations as smoking a tobacco cigarette.

Vapes tend to be larger and have tanks that can be filled with any flavor the user chooses. There is any flavor you can think of from cheesecake to long island iced tea. You are able to get the flavors, or juices as they call them, with different levels of nicotine. The smoke is much less offensive.

CBD Cigarettes

In the past few years, CBD has grown in popularity. It is essentially a cure-all for many ailments that plague everyone. You can now purchase hemp cigarettes that contain CBD which is an all-natural alternative to nicotine. It also provides you with the oral fixation.

This new alternative really seems to check all the boxes. It is an all-natural alternative and it is helping to add CBD to your daily routine. CBD helps with pain, anxiety, and depression.

To wrap things up, if you find yourself wondering how to quit smoking remember there are several options. You can quit. It will just take some time and commitment to find the path that is right for you.
