INTERVIEW: FLORENCE ORDESH

Vents got the inside scoop on one of Ireland’s top actors, Florence Ordesh. The leading lady, who has starred in various international TV shows and films gives an outstanding performance of resilient survivor Aoife, who manages to keep herself and her younger sister Niamh safe from an airborne infection in the upcoming feature film ‘An Extinction’. Florence’s character is determined to keep her sister alive, staying one foot ahead of starvation and infection in post-apocalyptic Ireland.

Florence is an Irish actor and entrepreneur. She was born in London and brought up in Ireland. She studied acting for film and television at the Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts in 2010.

She went on to get her MBA from Trinity College, Dublin, in 2017, having been offered a scholarship. Since graduating from her acting studies in North America with a spot-on American accent, Florence can be seen in film and TV on both sides of the Atlantic.

What is Florence Ordesh best known for?

Florence is known for her work in film and television. Her first appearance on the small screen was in 2011, when she landed the leading role in the mini-series ‘Saor Sinn o Olc’ for TG4.

She became internationally recognised when she was cast as archaeologist Mel Royce in ‘Dublin Murders’. Florence starred opposite Sarah Greene, Killian Scott, Eugene O’Hare, Cloneth Hill, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor and Moe Dunford.

The young actress won the lead role of Rose Tate in ‘Departure’ last year, which trended number one on Global TV. She appears opposite Emmy award-winning actress Archie Panjabi and Oscar winner Christopher Plummer.

She also plays Briwan in Apple TV+ new series ‘Foundation’, starring Jared Harris and Lee Page, and Shakeela Husain in ‘Cold Courage’, starring John Simm.
