Romantic Drama “My Policeman” Finds Its Two Leads in Harry Styles and Emma Corrin

Amazon Studios can rest easy: The Company That Jeff Bezos Built has officially cast critically acclaimed actors Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Harry Styles (Dunkirk) in their upcoming romantic drama My Policeman according to The Hollywood Reporter. Corrin – just nominated for a Golden Globe – won the role that much of Hollywood is abuzz about after beating out other contenders such as Lily James (Baby Driver).

The Michael Grandage (Genius) directed My Policeman is set at the tail-end of the 1990s, time-hopping a bit into the 1950s as well. The story, you ask? An older gentleman drops in to visit with a couple – played by Styles and Corrin – only to have a romantic relationship that he had with Styles forty years earlier come out into the open; Plot twist!

The part of the older gent in this love triangle – Patrick- has yet to be cast.

My Policeman is based off of the 2012 critically acclaimed Bethan Robert novel and was adapted for the screen by Oscar nominee Ron Nyswaner (The Prince of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Homeland). Cutting into the producing cake will be Greg Berlanti, Robbie Rogers, and Sarah Schechter of production house Berlanti-Schechter. This trio will be sharing their duties alongside Independent Film Company and MGC stalwarts Cora Palfrey and Phillip Herd.

Corrin and Styles are two of the most sought after actors in Young Hollywood with full dance cards indeed: Corrin stars in the insanely popular water cooler show The Crown where she essays none other than icon Princess Diana. Styles meanwhile is no piker himself – the Chris Nolan alum is burning the midnight oil with the currently filming Don’t Worry Darling (pinch-hitting for actor Shia LaBeouf who reportedly butted heads with that films director and was replaced) and has signed on the dotted line to act in director Dan Gilroy’s upcoming film Faster, Cheaper, Better.

My Policeman is scheduled to begin filming next year and Vents will bring any updates as they fall out of the Hollywood sky!
