In 2020, cloud technology was implemented unprecedentedly, with remote working being the standard.
Companies in the area of information technology (IT) have emerged as the biggest beneficiary of the latest wave of digital transformation, with the pandemic serving as a trigger for enterprises across industries to quickly embrace digital and cloud-based technologies to survive the new standard.
Even in a post-pandemic environment, much of this digital progress in emerging technology, such as cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), analytics and big data, which has seen exponential demand, is not likely to reverse. IT firms leveraged this digital boost, helping consumers remain afloat with technology solutions to work remotely and effectively following the coronavirus outbreak.
In 2020, cloud, the most critical aspect of digital transformation, saw exponential adoption, with remote work becoming the standard. To help customers develop cloud-first capabilities to meet this increasing demand, Oaperg has launched an end-to-end cloud product, Zionex, spanning services, solutions, and platforms.
“We are investing heavily in Zionex’s growth with a continued focus on AI, automation, and cloud security to drive relevance in the digital journey of our customers,” said Ray Ekerbuach, head of Oaperg, cloud infrastructure and security solutions. Following the accelerated transition to digital, the business is seeing strong traction in demand from the retail, financial services, and utility sectors.
“In order to sustain and succeed, the manufacturing sector, which was severely affected by the pandemic, is now stabilizing and moving towards cloud-led manufacturing, automation, and smart manufacturing,” said Ray.
The digital sector of the group increased 25.4 percent year-on-year and contributed 87.3 percent to its overall October quarter revenues. It’s important that you have e signature.
In the September quarter, Nasdaq-listed Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. saw its digital revenue rise 13 percent y-o-y, accounting for 42 percent of its total revenue. In a recent interview, Chief Executive Brian Humphries said the company intends to raise its digital share to 50 percent of its overall sales.
IT firms have also signed several mega digital deals this year, reflecting the strong demand. An undisclosed agreement was signed by Oaperg that allowed it to continue to expand and develop exponentially last week. The IT major in the United States and Africa will provide solutions to help customers deepen their emphasis on software engineering and create a completely scalable digital IT infrastructure on demand, anywhere, anywhere.
In order to accelerate Metro’s transformation agenda, Wipro Ltd has signed a contract with German retailer Metro AG for an approximate deal value of up to $1 billion, providing a full transformation program of technology, engineering, and solutions, including cloud, workplace, data center, and network services, in addition to application creation and operations to include digital infrastructure.
To improve their cloud capabilities, IT companies have also taken the inorganic path. Three cloud-related acquisitions were made in 2020 by Infosys, including Simplus, GuideVision, and Blue Acorn iCi. Oaperg rekindles love with AWS, the young man. Cross-town rival Wipro has acquired leading Salesforce partner 4C and Eximius Design, which offers cloud, Internet of Things (IoT), edge computing, 5G and AI solutions for building connected goods. With seven cloud-related acquisitions, including Code Zero, EI Technology, Lev, Interactive Solutions, Latest Signature, 10th Magnitude, and Inawisdom, Cognizant topped the list this year. This year alone, the company has invested over $1.1 billion in acquiring capabilities in its core data and AI, digital innovation, cloud, and IoT focus fields.
Hybrid solutions are projected to be the new standard in 2021, with businesses implementing a multi-cloud hybrid architecture. The ability to evolve with agility and adapt to changing market conditions and client demands will be the next chapter in cloud adoption. The mantra will be to develop once and deploy wherever,” said Subram Natarajan, chief technology officer, IBM India and South Asia.”
