Today, Nashville singer/songwriter Sam Williams unveils the music video for his latest single, “Can’t Fool Your Own Blood.” Directed by Running Bear Films’ Stephen Kinigopoulos and Alexa King (Kacey Musgraves, Little Big Town, Chrissy Metz), and shot in Henry County, TN on Williams’ family’s farm, the video captures the intricacies of a complicated familial relationship and the pain that ensues from lying to someone you love.

Originally released in January, “Can’t Fool Your Own Blood” was co-written by Sam, Mary Gauthier and Jaimee Harris and produced by Tommy Cecil. Driven by soulful guitars, the track allows Sam’s vocals to shine through as he delivers powerfully honest lyrics with a mixture of pain, strength, and hope. The song quickly garnered attention from the likes of American Songwriter, Billboard and NPR.
Back in December, Sam shared, “SHUTEYE,” about the sorrow and guilt that keeps you up at night. “SHUTEYE” was preceded by “The World: Alone,” a song he wrote in honor of his late sister Katie Williams’ 28th birthday. Though the song was written over a year ago, “The World: Alone” took on a new meaning for Williams in the wake of Katie’s passing as he reflected on the fragility of life.
