One of the most successful FPS video game franchises is set to have a new installment coming in late 2021. Being the sixth installment of the Halo series and bragging a 14th title in the franchise, players get to be in the shoes of Master Chief once again. Halo Infinite incorporates the traditional first-person mechanics with Master Chief who is on the path of investigating a Halo ring that is damaged. In his investigative endeavors, he comes faces to face with a new enemy.
Besides being a single-player game mode it will now also come with a multiplayer mode too. The game will be available for gamers on Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X and Xbox One and is set for release in late 2021 after being originally planned for release in 2020.
Far Cry 6
In Far Cry 6, expect a thrilling action-adventure storyline as players are taken to the Caribbean island of Yara where they will have to play the role of a local soldier by the name Dani Rojas who is on a mission to end the reign of Anton Castillo also known as ‘El Presidente’. Players will be able to use makeshift weapons as well as vehicles and will also be able to hire help thanks to the new ‘Fangs for Hire’ feature.
Far Cry 6 comes with a single-player and multiplayer mode and was originally set for release in February 2021 but has now been delayed. When it is finally released, the game will be available to play on older consoles as well as the new Xbox Series X & S.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
One of the long-standing first-person shooter games that has been around for many years is Call of Duty. Since the first game was released in 2003, there have been many great releases in the series that fans have loved. One of the best FPS games in the Call of Duty franchise recently was Call of Duty: Warzone released in early 2020. With Fornite, Apex Legends, and PUBG taking over the genre, this COD game took the genre by storm.
If you are a fanatic of zombie-killing, then you are in for a treat with the franchise’s latest release. Released in November 2020, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was released worldwide for some of the old consoles and also for PS5 and Xbox Series X & S. As well as campaign and multiplayer gameplays, this game also has a Zombie mode which offers an alternative gameplay with a ‘Dark Aether’ storyline. Until November 1st 2021, there is also another new game mode named Zombies Onslaught exclusively for PlayStation players.

There are many other popular games that fans will look forward to playing this year, including the long awaited Hitman 3. This third-person stealth game developed by IO Interactive will be the last in the World of Assassination game trilogy and will also be the eighth game in the entire Hitman series. Set to be released on January 20th, it will be available to play on PS5, Xbox Series X, and older consoles.
Once again players will take on the role of Agent 47 and travel far and wide to carry out assassination contracts. Developers have said that this game will be a lot more serious and darker than the previous trilogy installments.
