Why are smart buildings better than traditional buildings?

The western part of the world has been blessed with high facilities and better infrastructure. More than 90% of people can achieve a substantial living standard. However, there are still some limitations that restrict people from living a sustainable life.

People from across the globe are working to achieve necessities. However, people can use some innovative technology to sustain a better quality of life. Smart building is slowly gaining high popularity, especially in western countries. Smart buildings are not only useful in promoting energy-efficiency, but they also enhance the level of security.

The upward shift in revenue

It may be easy to acknowledge the benefits of a smart building, but it is equally important to emphasize the investment and its building cost. The total expenditure to build a smart building in 2012 was up to $4.7 billion, but now the expenditure is double the amount.

However, there are more dynamic concepts that make the smart building worth a shot. The wind turbine and solar energy array are a few integrated technologies into such buildings—the ventilating, heating, and cooling systems cost 51% less, making smart buildings somewhat cost-effective.

Lowers living expense

A smart building seems like quite an investment, but the cost-efficiency aspect is met as soon as a person starts living in it. The less energy consumption and sensors for energy overuse undoubtedly add to the cost-effectiveness factor. The highly efficient access control system helps in better fire safety and cool air ventilation.

The automated turn off/on the system and integrating multiple systems make the smart building worth living in. The intelligent management system works seamlessly to predict any defaults in any monitoring system. All the technological innovations make living expenditure significantly low and maintenance easier.

Healthier lifestyle

Smarts building is not only power efficient or cost-effective, but they also promote a healthier living. The fully ventilated and automated air vents improve air quality significantly. 65% of children in their elementary school stage suffer from asthma. Improved air quality genuinely enhances productivity and makes people feel more refreshed.

Although opting for a smart building may seem more decadent on the pocket, it has numerous benefits in the long run. The technological innovation and lower energy consumption system streamlines well with the living standard one aspires to achieve. Smart building not only looks sleek, but it is also great for personal security.
