SBCollector: entrepreneur, sneaker aficionado and… musician? Chris Robinson is known for having one of the most extensive (and expensive) sneaker collections in the world. His instagram is full of pictures that would make any sneakerhead drool, but he’s been working on something a little more personal the past year, a sudden blast of hop-hop tracks at the end of 2021.
Through his connections in the sneaker world, SBCollector has met some of the top artists and producers in hip hop. “I would send them beats just to get their feedback, and it would be like ‘oh, this is dope.’ and they would ask to use it.” SBCollector is known for being a go-getter, and as he put more of his focus into making music, people started paying attention. “I started having people hit me up and have me make beats for them. It was funny, because I was like, ‘I’m the sneaker guy’ but I guess now I’m the music and sneaker guy.”
His work is definity paying off. As his music career takes off, he’s beginning to reassess where he spends his time. “It was shoes all day every day, but I’m really loving the process of creating music. I feel blessed to be doing both right now.” As for what his future holds, he says more of the same, just bigger. “I want to keep collecting shoes, and be able to eventually start my own line or do collabs with some of the big brands. I also want to continue making music, and hopefully continue getting recognized for that.”
