INTERVIEW: Gold Hippy

Hi Gold Hippy, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Everything is groovy man! Just chillin’ and enjoying life. Enjoying the vibes of making some new music, enjoying my time out here in Cali, staying focused and enjoying life

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “One On One”?

One On One” was one of my favorite TV shows growing up and has always had an impact on the culture and more importantly myself. This track came about alongside my friend and producer, EQ-iiiRD EyE. We both we’re huge fans of the show and once we linked up we just made it happen.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

With everything going on in 2020, and even more so the lack of everything going on, I really took the time to dive back into things that inspired me from when I was younger and again this show had a huge impact on me and I wanted to

How was the filming process and experience behind the video?

Groovy as fuck! Honestly one of my favorite videos we’ve shot in 2020.  My team & I don’t release any songs without an accompanying video.  The fact that I’m born and raised in New York and I’m out here shooting in LA is definitely a vibe. The editing process is one of the best parts for me, it helps for me to be able to bring my vision to life.

How was the recording and writing process?

Easy, this shit is second nature to me.  Once the energy is right, everything is right.

What role does NYC play in your music?

Everything man.  New York city is a part of me, it’s a part of who I am.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

It definitely does mean you can expect new materiel from the Hip.  Everything Groovy! Whole lot of projects dropping in 2021 including some big features, music placements, and a WHOLE lot of visuals. The whole world feelin’ the groove!

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

First quarter, every quarter. Matter fact, we got something dropping every quarter

What else is happening next in Gold Hippy’s world?

Just remaining humble. Spreading positivity, peace & love, in this crazy world. But we leavin’ all of that negativity in 2020.
