NYC duo Nxtime contemplate “The Death of Television”

NYC based duo Nxtime are back with another pounding pop hit in the form of “The Death of Television”.

Produced by Mike Rogers (“Groove Is In The Heart”), the track is filled with disco tinged melodies and infectious guitar rhythms. “The Death Of Television” is a reflection of Ray’s relationships – reinventing and reimagining the connections he’s made along the way.  “The song is called ‘The Death of Television’ which in my mind actually means the ‘rebirth of television’ – it hasn’t died it’s just been regenerated”, Ray offers.

“And that’s the same way I feel about myself and the relationships I involve myself in. Change is always going to creep up on us – we all want to be better at something. And that kind of change could be some force that you had no idea was coming, like the love of your life or several loves of your life”.

Comprised of singer-songwriter and producer Ray Rubio and guitarist Nate Thompson, the duo met through the New York City rock climbing community. Instantly discovering a creative connection, the pair started writing and recording together in Ray’s bedroom studio. Delivering shimmering dance anthems inspired by classic R&B melodies and the synth soaked tones of 80s pop, the pair are backed by Bronx drummer Imhotep Williams and a rotating lineup of local musicians.
With the promise of more music to follow, “The Death of Television” proves Nxtime’s ability to create infectious hits.
