Premiering today the new video, “Goodbye Year, Goodbye”, from the celebrated X studio album, Alphabetland, released this past April. The video was produced by Keith Ross, artistic director of Tiny Concerts and features the signature animated figures the creator morphs to resemble each band member, playing and singing the poignant year ending song,
“Goodbye year, goodbye.
Please don’t make us cry
So long year, so long
We’ll sing you out with a song”
The band was so impressed with Ross’ interpretation of the title track celebrating the 40th Anniversary of their hit album, Los Angeles, X bassist, John Doe, reached out to Ross on social media thanking him for the honor. A conversation began which led to the ask, would Ross consider creating a video for the poignant new song, “Goodbye Year, Goodbye”.
It was also an honor for the creative Ross, “I like to think of Tiny Concert as a “venue” where all my favorite bands come to play. It’s an animated place where performances are reimagined in my scribbly illustration style. Tiny Concert has brought me even closer to the music I love. And as a lifelong fan, being able to work with X to create this music video and celebrate their new album was a very personal achievement for me.”
American luxury menswear brand John Varvatos, known for uniting old-world craftsmanship and refined tailoring with modern innovations in textiles and a rock ‘n roll sensibility, has collaborated with X for an exclusive capsule collection for its Winter 20 season. The pieces are available to purchase online and in-store and the band couldn’t be happier with the capsule collection.
