Born after a formative summer of falling in love, the self produced track reflects that sought after feeling of immortality and honestly looks at the raw beauty when love and mental health interconnect .. speaking more on the track Tiiva shares: “waves is about completely losing time, finding out that time hasn’t actually stopped and we’re late for everything… it’s about an untouchable feeling that you have to write down, because the mundane words of everyday sentences could never describe it.
It’s the kind of love that makes you want to start loving yourself. it’s when someone sees your scars and fragility and believes in you, and allows you to believe you’re capable of healing. it changes everything. it’s an unexplored territory, an undiscovered landscape and you feel like the first person to set eyes on it.
Tiiva has been producing and writing their own recipe of raw emotional pop songs, utilising a lonely year in london to emerge with their first song- waves. Having released a handful of remixes, this debut moment is their first musical diary entry. taking inspiration from their own experiences with mental health, falling in love and the peaks and troughs of hedonism, the dreamy cut doubles up as a form of therapy and a cathartic outlet for emotion and expression. Taking inspiration from the likes of Charli XCX, FKA Twigs and James Blake, their style of intimate lyrics vs woozy synths and chopped vocal samples is a sound that’s definitely one to keep on repeat.
