Former Hawkwind member, Nik Turner has teamed up with Killing Joke bassist and award winning producer Youth to release a new album on Youth Sounds in conjunction with Cadiz Entertainment Ltd on the 12th of February 2021.
‘Interstellar Energy’ will be released on CD and limited edition blue vinyl and features six space rock meets motorick kosmische tracks including the lead single ‘Tesla’. The initial idea came about when snooker legend and prog rock obsessive Steve Davis invited Nik Turner (saxophone) to create an all star live jam with ex members of Hawkwind under the musical direction and vision of Youth (bass, synths & drones) at Glastonbury in 2017 and 2019.
The two reconvened last year at The Kinks’ Konk Studios in London together with the Space Falcons line up of Bruce Welch (guitar), Matt Smith (keyboards), Will Hughes (bass & percussions), Richard Lanchester (drums) and Chris Barnett (violin) to record the fruits of these legendary live sets and preserve them for prosperity – set your Lazers on stun and buckle up for an incredible trip through this cosmic psyche meltdown.
