Hi Chris, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hi vents, I’ve been really well, thank you!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “A Candle For Carson”?

Yes certainly.  The single is dedicated to a little boy Carson Jase Adams,  from Highercroft in a town called Blackburn, Lancashire.

We decided to get together and write a song for him,  to be released for a Christmas number 1 this year.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

I had wrote a poem called ‘Prayer for Carson’ as a lot of people on social media had been saying we need to pray, so I shared the poem on social media  an it got an extremely good reception due to Likes  and shares  etc, so I decided why don’t we write a song for him for Christmas number 1 and call it ‘A Candle for Carson’.

Any plans to release any sort of video for the track?

Yes there will be a music video out at the end of the week just before the release date on the 8th December. Which will be available on YouTube.

How was the recording and writing process?

The recording and writing process went fine tbh, I asked Miranda if she would like to be involved in the project as I know she’s an extremely talented lady, as she can sing and write her own original music. Then I asked a producer who I’ve released house music with in the past called Andrew Rose, as together we are ‘Traction’, and he said he would get involved as well.

We had a few minor hiccups at the start however we decided to let Miranda write her parts on her own,  then she sent us her vocals,  we then wrote the music around her parts, then I finished my verse and slotted the last section in of myself then the track was wrote. This literally took us 4 days on a whole to create. We just needed to mix and master the track  and a guy named Evan Wilde did this for us and made it sound amazing, so we  can’t thank him enough for that. Thanks Evan.

When it comes to Christmas songs or any other holiday – does your approach change and likewise when you are collaborating with other people?

I have never tried to write a Christmas song before , as I think you end up trying to hard and most of the good ones have already been written in the past, however we managed to make it Chrismassy so that’s an added bonus.

Not only a holiday song but a tribute for a brave little soul – would you say that made the writing process much difficult or complex?

I’ll be honest, it was quite easy to write this track as we already had it all in mind, how we was going to write the track and how we wanted it to sound. . All three of us worked really hard and it came out quite quick for once, when usually some tracks can take a long time.

Does the new single mean we can expect an album– how’s that coming along?

Not sure on an album quite  just yet haha, how ever I know Miranda has got her own projects she’s working on, so people really need to check her music out, and me and Andy might start making some music again who knows. We want this project for Carson  to do the best it can for now then we ll see what the future holds.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

The release date for A Candle for Carson is Tuesday 8th December. On all Major sites.

What else is happening next in Master C’s world?

In my world of music , all I have at the min is this project for Carson and I’m still active in the rave scene, where I’ve been an MC for 21 years in the Bounce scene,  so I’m hoping this lockdown gets sorted so we can all  hit them  stages and dance floors again in the near future as I absolutely love that part of my job.
