What are Player Positions of Basketball Game

A group of players who has a common aim is called a team. Every team has a group of players according to the rules. The players have to play according to their position.  A basketball team has a lot of players but in the arena, there are only Five Players allowed playing on the court. There are two categories of a basketball team: Offense Team and Defense Team.  Each player has been assigned according to the basketball court positions: center, power forward, small forward, point guard, and shooting guard. The offense Team’s players’ responsibilities are extremely opponent from the Defense Team. Every player is recognized by its position. Let us read about Basketball player positions deeply. 

1- Center

The Center is the tallest and strongest player on every team.  The Center player is always physically domineering against all other players. He always takes the position under the basket and ready to score on close shots and rebound. He also defends the opponents to drill the basketball. He keeps the defense players away from shooting and passes the ball in the vital area. All in all, the Center player is the most important player on the team. 

2- Power Forward

The Power Forward player role is very similar to the Center player. He is the scoring machine of the team. Power Forward players allow taking long shots than Center players. He is independent to score very near from the basket as well as able to shoot the mid-range jump shots even from 10 – 15 feet away from the basket. 

On defense, the responsibilities of the Power Forward player’s responsibility is to guard the Offense Team’s bigger and quick players to come close to the basket. 

3- Small Forward

The Small Forward player has unique powers. He guards the defensive team small and large players. The Small Forward player can roam all over the basketball court. He can basket the ball even from long and shot closes. He is filled with dribbling skills like pick and roll defense, dribble moves, finishing, shooting, etc. He is very quick, upright, high-speed, and ready to move forward. He is is the most talented shooter on the court. 

4- Shooting Guard

Dribbling fast, fast food theory, getting good at the opposite, passing, and having the court vision are the best specifications of a Shooting Guard player. He is the most outside shooter on the team. He is always in the eyes of the opponent team as he can score from anywhere on the court. The Shooting Guard player is called because of his best ability to shoot the ball from anywhere on the court. 

5- Point Guard

The Point Guard player is well-known for ball handling on the court. He directs his team’s players and looks after each and every move of the opponent players. Ball handling, passing, quickness, communication, and composure are the best abilities of the Point Guard player. He is the shortest player on the court but keeps the focus on the other team’s best ball handler and seeks a chance to steal a ball. He
