Kat Alyst has been using her camera and experimenting with narratives in photography for years long before reinventing the way people perceive photographers. Though captivated by fashion, she categorizes herself as more of an artist at her core, because she has been taking the best of moments and aims at creating a world of her own, with the help of powerful images that she locks with her camera.
The buzz is in about the vibrant artist debuting a body of work that will be held in 2021. The title, ‘someone is trying to tell you something,’ will highlight the pinnacle of prolific work that’s curated a growing audience already. Alyst is hopeful that in the times to come, her work profile will span several projects that will add more feathers to her cap, and help her emerge as a versatile artist who can dabble in varied genres from mental health/illness awareness, the feminine perspective, and vulnerability.
She has been heaped several praises as her work has been featured in some of the top magazines and portals such as New York weekly, LA WIRE, Fox News, NBC and more. She has toured several parts of the world, pre-pandemic, seeking the right inspiration for her art and projects, working as a contributing photographer for print magazines, and giving back to her communities she frequents.
Expressing her ideology, Kat Alyst was once quoted as saying, “When I killed my ego I no longer belonged anywhere. That was a huge wake-up call of how I’d been living. This next body of work will reflect the pieces I’ve picked up and reflect on my life. My goal is to help others with the message that they are not alone in their struggles. We all have a story, the only way to get through the hard times is to share the struggle—together.”
Her fans and followers are hopeful of seeing some great work by her in the times to come. Her future show will focus on mental health and the overall message of not being alone in adversity and personal struggles. Though people are always reminded they are not alone, Alyst believes the only way to not be, is by sharing.
