INTERVIEW: MOLOW

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

We’ve been great thank you, working on a lot of new songs and collabs for the new year, we are very excited to show them to you all.

Out of all the songs out there, why did you choose to cover Aloe Blacc’s ‘I Need A Dollar’?

We always liked the idea of doing a dance version of such an iconic song. We didn’t feel there was a version out there that had captured it’s original nature whilst still being able to be played in a set, so we decided to make it ourselves!

How did you go on balancing the original with your own take?

Ben Hamilton’s vocals elevated the song so much that our job was easy, supporting it with more of a dance feel. The tricky part was to find the right drop but we are happy with the final result.

How was the recording process?

We received a dance version of I need a dollar made by italian producers Luigi Modolo and Simone Ermacora and we really liked how it sounded and decided to work on it to give it the molow touch.

What was it like to work with Ben Hamilton and what did he bring to the table?

It has been great to work with Ben, although we unfortunately did not have the chance to meet in person due to lockdown, he laid such a great vocal on it we were very impressed by his performance.

Does the new single mean we can expect new material – how’s that coming along?

Yes we have a lot of new material lined up for the new year that we are very proud of!

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Early January we will follow up with the next single, dont want to give any spoilers, but we do have plenty coming!

What else is happening next in MOLOW’s world?

We are dying to get back on stage, and hope to be able to play more festivals and concerts as soon as possible, in the mean time we’re going to release a bunch of new music, with great collabs and will keep on doing online DJ sets for our fans.
