Contemporary R&B singer hailing from South London, Liyah, is set to release her soulful brand new single “Do You”.
A delicate percussive drumline frames this subtle track, as atmospheric synths and Liyah’s ethereal vocals float around the listener surrounding them in the exquisite beauty of “Do You”. The stunning production and vocal layering within the chorus is the highlight of the stripped back and modern R&B track, saturated with intense emotions and passion creating an effortless sense of euphoria.
Liyah on her inspiration in writing this track:
“Do You is about letting go of a relationship that is unfixable.”
Surrounded by music from a young age, Liyah’s late uncle, Earl Lindo ‘Wya’, was the original member of Bob Marley and the Wailers and helped to nurture her passion for music. Being taught how to play both the piano and guitar, as well as the fundamentals of songwriting by her uncle, Liyah then went on to study music at The BRIT School and is now embarking on an exciting career as the new face of British R&B. On top of her many musical achievements Liyah also supports numerous charities such as Mental Health Awareness, and has been the face of Dr. Barnados aiming to spread love and wellbeing.
New track “Do You” is a fresh and exciting take on the classic R&B sound, with Liyah being one of the most thrilling young artists of the moment. “Do You” is set for release on November 20th.
