Aly & AJ Announce Live Stream and New Single

“Unless you’ve lived under a rock this year, you’ve probably heard ‘Potential Breakup Song’ on TikTok,” declared Entertainment Weekly earlier this week in an interview with the critically acclaimed, alt-pop duo, Aly & AJ. The song has become one of the biggest trends on TikTok with over two million videos created and over three billion plays. Aly & AJ will be performing that song and more during a special concert event – ALY & AJ Present WE DON’T STOP Live from the Viper Room – on November 28 at 6pm PST/9pm EST. The concert special will be available exclusively on VEEPS with tickets now available here

This week, Aly & AJ confirmed their new single, “Slow Dancing”, which will be available everywhere on December 2. The girls started writing the melody for “Slow Dancing” a few years ago, but the actual lyrics didn’t come until they were “safe at home” in LA this past spring. They re-approached the song and worked with their producer over Zoom to, as Aly said, “put a bow on it.”

Aly & AJ shot the video for “Slow Dancing” during quarantine, too. The girls headed to their mom’s ranch in Santa Ynes, CA, and used whatever they had around them – their mom’s truck, her house and horse – styling themselves, and even doing their own hair and make-up. Fans will be able to see the video shortly after the song is released and they can pre-save the single here.
“Slow Dancing” will be the first single off Aly & AJ’s new, yet-to-be-titled album that will come sometime next year. “It’s been 13 years since we released a full album, and we ended up with more material than we ever expected,” said Aly & AJ. AJ continued, “Aly and I can’t wait to release the full album, but we plan on doing it a little differently than we have in the past, where we really introduce people to the sound before the album even comes out.”
One thing is for sure, fans can be sure to expect a truly authentic and refreshing album, that will engage and remind you of the California music scene that has influenced music for decades. Stay tuned for more news on the new album and next single coming soon.
