Aaron Sibley has just released his new single ‘Frozen Mind’. The new single is a contemporary indie pop arrangement with acoustic roots, fusing Aaron’s warm vocal timbre and well-honed technique with interesting production. The underrated architecture of the song blends Aaron’s rich vocals with emotive and melancholic melody lines.
Recorded exclusively in Aaron’s home studio and the song was arranged, produced and mixed and mastered by himself. ‘Frozen Mind’ was Aaron’s passion project throughout the lockdown periods of 2020.
Frozen Mind is a story about Aaron’s experience with mental health struggles. “The ease of comparing yourself to others on social media often makes you look at yourself in a different, not accurate, light. You see all the things you’re doing wrong, or not achieving. For me, this weighed me down and after staying in bed for a few days, this song came out.”
The lyrics focus on the feeling when the weight of the world is on your shoulders and you don’t feel like doing anything, or even moving out of bed [Light has come and gone, already three times in one night] Aaron says: “Everyone goes through their bad days, and some last longer than others. This song is an attempt to explain how I felt when i just couldn’t bring myself to get out of bed”
[It’s eery in the streets.
The crowds make it hard to see,
society means everyone but me]
