Singer/Songwriter ARIA Releases Music Video for Original Song “Am I Next?”

Singer and songwriter ARIA (who you may know as Aria Brooks from Nickelodeon’s All That) has released the music video for her original song “Am I Next?”.

In it, she contemplates the dangers facing her generation and the African American community today as well as the importance of speaking out for social justice. ARIA wrote the song in July and the subject matter is very important to her. She adds, “I wrote ‘Am I Next?’ back in July after seeing killing after killing of people who looked like me. The killing of Rayshard Brooks hit home because it happened at the same Wendy’s I would go to all the time before rehearsals. ‘Am I Next?’ initially was like my cry for help and I was expressing my fear.

Once we got into the recording process it was moreso me wanting to take action. I am saddened and scared but it’s time to stop this. The recording process was long and there were struggles along the way but, I think, in the end, I delivered my best and it will inspire many people.”
