To The Moon and Back (TTMAB)—a nonprofit organization dedicated to children born with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) and their families—is thrilled to partner with actress Meg Donnelly (from Disney’s Zombies & American Housewife fame) for a virtual reading of their children’s book Sam the Superhero and His Super Life. Watch here. Brought to life by authors Kathryn F. Pearson and James T Pearson, along with illustrator Lauren Jezierski, the book sheds light on the long-term effects of NAS, which occurs when a baby withdraws from opiates they were exposed to in utero.
“We wanted to create this book to normalize the experience for kids born opiate dependent and provide insight into the long term impact in utero opiate exposure,” explains TTMAB founder, Theresa Harmon. “Our goal is to get this story into the hands of children, teachers, and providers, so that we can raise awareness about Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and the needs of our children.”
Sam the Superhero and His Super Life is available for purchase, here: https://amzn.to/32A8TXz.
