Emerging as a prominent artist within the Toronto music scene; Canadian artist Kevv has come back with his second release of the year – his new single ‘Max Out’.
Hailing from Toronto, Ontario; Kevv draws inspiration from rhythmic harmonies, with this having a pronounced influence on his sound and artistry. In his artistic journey, he has teamed up with his brother, and fellow artist, Yan, to form their own music collective – HWD. With their sound being a fusion of Hip-Hop and R&B, they work to curate atmospheric melodies using Trap and R&B elements.
Filled with a mellow lo-fi energy; ‘Max Out’ leans on gentle Hip-Hop beats, while creating an eclectic soundscape that incorporates a light and hypnotic synth melody that runs throughout. With a stripped back instrumental, led by a rhythmic bassline; the airy and almost celestial instrumentation is accompanied by Kevv’s laid back flow and gentle vocal cadences. When discussing the track, Kevv describes the meaning behind the song as “Don’t stress, just follow your instincts”.With a rapidly growing discography, ‘Max Out’ comes as the follow on from his debut EP ‘Connect.” which he released earlier this year. With a unique and captivating sound, Kevv is honing his style and artistry, and proving himself as an emerging talent to watch.
