Gripped by the global pandemic combined with political instability and social justice movement, alongside extreme weather events that includes one of the largest fires in California’s history. It’s been a pivotal moment in human history, one where we can either choose to despair and give up, or look at it as a moment of opportunity for transformation. With crimson sky and literal ash raining down, it was in this moment that indie-pop artist Tess Posner penned her newest single “Party at the End of the World”.
While anxiously waiting whether to evacuate, Tess penned this track as if it were her last night on earth, and this track would be that song she would listen to her final moments. There’s a deep sadness in the lyrics and a sense of loss, but similarly a need to surrender to what’s happening and some hope coming out at the end. Produced by GEKKA and mixed and mastered by Grammy-nominated producer / engineer Benny Steele (Justin Bieber, Jason Derulo), the song intertwines its foreboding lyrics with textured synths and a beat that compels you to just want to dance along.
