PREMIERE: Model Stranger Stream New Album “Phases”

Chicago based Rockers Model Stranger are set to release their new album Phases on November 13th, but here on VENTS are giving everyone an exclusive look to the whole record.

When asked about the new album bassist Kevin James said, “Phases is the beginning, middle and end of the last decade for Model Stranger.  We put out our first record 10 years ago and spent the last 8 years independently touring around the country in support of ‘Dreams & Bones,’ as well as a few EPs we released during those years.  Having played almost 400 shows all booked and managed completely by ourselves, we decided it was about time to take a break from the road to put more focus on songwriting.  We needed to get reenergized and come up with a fresh batch of songs.  We then spent our newly found “downtime” holed up in our studio writing and demoing over 50 songs.  After endlessly whittling away we decided on tracking 13 of the 50+ for the record.  Mulling over them for quite some time, we chose 9, which we felt best represented us and the sound we wanted to step into the new decade with.   With Phases being released during such uncertain and strange times, we hope it gives people something new to discover and fall in love with.”

Model Stranger draws inspiration from the 60’s to 90’s era of Rock and Roll. The Chicago Press dubbed them “rock n’ roll classicists” and describes them as “an eclectic synthesis of psychedelic grunge and classic rock.” The trio describes themselves as “an analog band living in a digital world.” Any lover of rock will feel at home with the band’s sound, while also experiencing a new and unique style. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Stephen Francis, bassist Kevin James, and drummer Vincent Joseph. For more information on Model Stranger and what they have planned for the future please stay connected to their socials (below).
