Litany’s recent track ‘Starsign’ broadened the attention that’s building around the indie-leaning alt-pop artist Litany.
Litany now builds upon ‘Starsign’ by sharing the follow-up ‘Uh-huh’. Listen HERE. If ‘Starsign’ was about overthinking a potential new love, this new track represents the polar opposite. It’s a liberating, sexually-charging celebration of losing yourself in the moment. Litany’s conversational lyricism dominates and, as ever, a gaming reference is never too far away as she sings, “3AM our bodies like Tetris / Trying for a high score.”
“Having been single for almost six years, I hadn’t felt what real intimacy with the right person was like,” says Litany. “‘Uh huh’ is unashamedly about sex that’s so good you lose yourself and kinda even forget who you are in that moment – it’s just you and your lover, uh huh.”
The track pulsates with a satisfyingly electrifying energy: bouncing bass and gleaming synths commanding the attention before a breakdown leads into the surging climax. Litany, real name Beth Cornell, wrote the song alongside its producer Fyfe(Foxes, Gabrielle Aplin, Mika), and James New (Dua Lipa, RAYE). The official video will follow next week featuring some well-known names alongside Litany
