Bahghi has released her first ever single entitled, ‘25’. The track, released on her birthday, is a heart-felt birthday present to herself. ‘25’is feelings of acceptance, growth, and change – Bahghi paints a flood of all her emotions onto reflective track ‘25’. The melodic track, produced by Bahghi’s brother, Aaron Yemane, is a blend of sounds: jazz, soul, and pop. The smooth bass-heavy instrumental intertwined with Bahghi’s vocals is meditative and creates a dream-like reality.
Bahghi, has also released a music video to accompany the beautiful track, shot in Zanzibar by videographer Mohammed Ali Simai. Parts of the video for ’25’ represent appreciation for growth: “In one of the scenes of the video I’m wearing a wedding dress with a veil on the beach at sunrise. I carry a bouquet of flowers and walk slowly but
steadily. I place the flowers in the sea as an offer, kneel down and raise my hands in the sky as praise and in gratitude.
When speaking about the track, Bahghi states, “the song is about being grateful for still having my parents (I reconciled with my dad after 15 years) and for them and God giving me my life. ‘25’ is about being grateful for all the lessons I’ve learned, including realizing I am enough the way I am and I have the power to stand on my own feet”.
Bahghi’s authenticity is undeniable and addictive to the ear. Many listeners can relate to finding or discovering their self-worth and realising their importance. Bahghi’s rawness radiates throughout ‘25’as she exposes all her deep inner thoughts.
