The history of the RAM truck

Are you planning to buy a new RAM truck for sale? Then it would be best to know their history. A Dodge Ram pickup is a popular truck that has been chosen for several things, from a heavy-duty work truck to a family vehicle. It is a truck that has been honored as the Motor Trend’s Truck for five years, and it is known to be a top-selling vehicle in the USA.

The following are some of the things you need to know about RAM trucks:

2011- The only choice when it comes to manual transmission

While manufacturers dropped their manual lines, Dodge still offered the manual transmission, which made it the only choice for the drivers preferring handling the shifting on their own for whatever reason.

The Dodge Ram has been in production for over three decades and continues to be a line proven for the Dodge company. According to the reviews, Dodge is a vehicle that offers comfort, performance, and quality in the truck. The vehicles seem to be attractive, with many people considering them to be the best to drive around. The Dodge is continuing to be one of the best choices for those interested in full-sized pickups.

2009 – Fourth Generation

It is a model that made its debut in 2008 at the international Auto show in North America and still a popular option for trucks. The changes in 2009 included a new Hemi engine introduction, a storage system improvement referred to as Ramboxthat allowed the owners to store items in the truck bed walls, and an improved suspension.

There was also the introduction of the four-door cab style with the generation featuring a rear suspension of coil spring for a smooth ride, better performance while off the road, and higher weight levels.

2006 – Redesign

Dodge designers brought significant changes to this particular year model, where they included the Mega Cab. It is an option that featured seating of up to six with a reclining seat in the rear, in-dash navigation to be an option, and a seat DVD in the rear for entertainment.

2002 – third generation

It is a generation that hit in 2002 in the market featuring a redesigned frame, interior suspension, and a power train. It had a larger grill with some models given a front suspension system that is independent. The changes helped bolster sales, but it was hard for the Dodge to keep up with the GM or Ford trucks, increasing steadily in sales.

1981 – Introduction with the first generation

In 1981, the first RAM truck hit the market. Its name was inspired by the ornament of a RAM hood that decorated the 1933 Dodge vehicles. The options earlier included the 250 three quarter ton truck, 150 one and a half-ton truck, and the 350 one-ton truck. The buyers could also choose a standard cab, extended crew cab depending on individual needs.

Dodge RAMs replaced the D-series trucks, which had been introduced in 1972, featuring a few critical changes. The headlamps, the lamps wrapped around, were rectangles in the singular  with the body lines being square
