Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Bored waiting for the vaccine but excited about our new AA side release V.F./So to Speak.
Can you talk to us more about your latest track “So to speak”?
So to speak is one of those songs that came in 2 separate pieces about a week apart from each other, both parts slipped out in a matter of minutes which is always nice when that happens.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
No the song just came.
How was the filming process and experience behind the video?
It was an interesting process, we had to learn stop motion animation, It didn’t take long as first anticipated and was a focus in the first lockdown.
How was the recording and writing process?
We recorded the song in hermitage studios with V.F. live and then whacked some overdubs on after, it was all recorded and mixed in a couple of days.
What role does London play in your music?
Living in Camden on and off for years, you can’t help for London to seep in somehow including the music.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?
Yeah, we have pretty much all the songs ready and would be looking to record about 12 tracks early next year
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
Not as yet but because recording is all we can focus on at the moment due to lockdown and no live gigs sooner rather than later.
What aspects of existence and trust are you exploring with your music?
What else is happening next in Blue Statue’s world?
We are looking for a good label, releasing new material and start gigging as soon as we can…
