Tell us a little bit about yourself and your company
I am a sneakerhead/influencer based out of Long Branch, NJ. I have lived here my whole life and grew up less fortunate than most. Going to school with other kids who had all the newest sneakers and clothing, while I was not able to have those things lead to a love for fashion as I got older and was able to buy things on my own. At the age of 14 I got my working papers, and with my very first paycheck purchased my first pair of Nikes which was the start of me building one of the most sought-after sneaker collections in the world. From standing in lines, to making connections, and then finally in 2011 becoming the owner of an actual sneaker store. Staying close to the sneaker community which sneaker collectors take very seriously, teamed up with the #1 Reebok collector in the world @deeboks and former store owner to manage the business and remodel the store from the ground up.
I also am fortunate enough to be able to donate to multiple charities through sneakers, I have purchased 3 pairs of the Nike Air Mags and donated over $15,000 to Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation, as well as $11,000 to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital after purchasing one pair of the What the Doernbecher Nike Dunk in an eBay charity auction. We run numerous clothing/shoe drives throughout the year in-store to help out our local communities.
Describe any unique characteristics or attributes of yourself/company
Why I feel I stand out from a lot of other collectors is my love for Sample pairs, which are the pairs that the brands work on before releasing the actual shoe. These pairs tend to be different than the actual released version and can therefore be much more sought after and valuable in today’s market. Sometimes these shoes can get scrapped, and in some cases, I have the only pair in existence.
Any tip/advice for young entrepreneur?
Know what you want to do, and go after it. Don’t listen to the people around you who may say it will never happen. I am a prime example of hard work and perseverance. A lot of people thought I wouldn’t amount to much, and it was my goal to prove them wrong. I love what I do, and am a big believer in the old adage “Love what you do, and you will never work a day in your life.”
