SINGLE REVIEW: The Distances by Cosmopolis

Let’s get the show on the road and give the people what they want, and that’s rock n’ roll! We immediately want to introduce to you Cosmopolis and their new single, “The Distances”, which will automatically be a fan favorite if you enjoy the likes of David Bowie. This band makes us feel like we are in a distant dystopia of sorts like in Mad Max, which is pretty dark if you ask us but they’re not going to apologize for taking it this route.

We love the boldness it takes to not only go against the grain, but having the guts to stand by your decision, which a lot of celebrities can take note of these days. The song is chaotic in a tight space, helping you find the darkness where it is, near and surrounding. Can you handle the scope of reality they’re trying to build?

With “The Distances,” Cosmopolis uses art rock canvass splashed with dark shades of 60s new wave as the slow-burning synths stretch and dissolve with each other, offering a sonic escapade that makes you feel like you’re in an apocalyptic film.

Just listen to some of their lyrics “There’s no nature here / Don’t stay / You’re not welcome here / You’re not wanted here / Get out of here,” talk about getting the chills.
