Formed by Georgia Hardy (Spilt Milk promotions), Will Crosby, and Simon Tyrie, Regressive Left are a refreshing new voice in the UK’s musical community. Having played their debut show alongside Scalping, PVA, and Porridge Radio at Sebright Arms last year, the trio wasted no time in heading to the studio to record their self-produced debut with engineer Richard James (Younghusband, deathcrash, Froth).
Landing on November 3rd, ‘Eternal Returns’ is the band’s socially-minded opening manifesto. Characterised by astute lyrics, saxophone interludes and a tastefully gnarly guitar solo, Regressive Left’s boldly eclectic debut channels nuances of Talking Heads, Sneaks and Meatraffle. ‘Eternal Returns’ is an exciting glimpse into the newly-formed trio’s world.“‘Eternal Returns’ is about the ‘I’m alright, Jack’s of this country, lining their pockets while the world burns around them, and the gutless liberalism being offered as the only so-called alternative to rising inequality. The concept of eternal return was popularised by Nietzsche and refers to past events recurring over and over again.”
