CD REVIEW: The Wall by David Thompson

Philly where you at?! We have David Thompson releasing his brand new EP called “the wall” and it’s pretty out there when it comes to Electropop but it’s so good. The EP is super catchy it will have you hearing many similar sounds like the Talking Heads, which is not an easy feat. The music is very melodic, soothing to the ear, but it’s also very intricate with a dark overtone of lyrics. The fact it’s experiential like Pink Floyd’s The Wall is merely a coincidence but it’s a pretty awesome fact.

During these uncertain times, it’s great to be experimenting and getting your mind in tune with something else that’s not just always bad news. All 5 of the songs on “the wall” begin very dark and advents a perspective of what many people believe is the bygone era, a new age of quarantine where time is on our hands.

David Thompson takes us through an experience, an audio experience if you will, to show us the darker side of meaning in his lyrics and others as well. He can have you bouncing up and down, feeling the highs and the lows, but through it all, he’s right there with you.

Take a chance and listen to David Thompson’s newest EP, “the wall”.
