Business Profile – Loot Crate

Loot Crate is an international subscription box service which has been going for almost a decade now. In other words, they are a subscription e-commerce platform which providers subscribers with boxes of exclusive and licensed gaming and geeky merchandise on a monthly basis.

Loot Crate is based in Los Angeles and works with some of the largest and most established brands in sport, gaming, and entertainment, according to Lootsie.com.

Specifically, the company was founded in 2012 by Matthew Arevalo and Chris Davies, and they are in the process of changing the firm’s name to “The Loot Company”, following its sale to Money Chest LLC last year.

Loot Crate currently sends out millions of crates each year to its subscribers in 35 countries scattered across the globe.

Arevalo and Davies launched Loot Crate to provide customers with a “comic convention in a box”, as they put it. Their service quickly proved to be a hit, with Loot Crate racking up in excess of 200,000 subscribers in its first two years, earning it first place on the Deloitte Fast 500 North America List and Inc’s list of Fastest Growing Private Companies in the world.

What’s in the Crates?

Each crate is theme-based, and Loot Crate covers a wide range of themes, including “Fantasy”, “Future”, and individual book and movie franchises. They collaborate with various leading comic brands and video gaming companies, including the likes of Marvel and Nintendo, to give subscribers access to the best and hottest merchandise.

Every crate that is sent out contains a great selection of thematic merchandise, and there are many different options to choose from, such as:

Loot Crate – These crates contain an assortment of items related to movies, comics, TV shows and games. The items included in these crates are geeky and cool collectibles, such as clothing, official licensed figures and other merchandise.

Loot Crate DX – These crates are similar to the standard Loot Crate subscription, but they contain an even better selection of collectibles which are typically even more exclusive and have a higher market value.

Loot Gaming – These crates are very popular, and they feature apparel and other items related to a variety of video games, including classics and new releases.

Loot Anime – These crates include a randomly picked selectionof items, including exclusive clothing, figurines and other merchandise related to the most popular anime and mange series. The total value of the items contained within each crate is typically worth considerably more than the price subscribers paid for the crate.

Loot Sci-Fi – Crates sent out as part of this subscription package contain awesome collectibles and other gear from a fantastic selection of the most popular and best Sci-Fi movies, books and video games.

Loot Fright – Lastly, we have Loot Crate’s Loot Fright subscription. These crates include exclusive merchandise, including figures and clothing, from some of the most popular horror films, books and games.

Aside from the packages listed above, Loot Crate also has subscriptions which are specific to other themes and individual franchises, including Rick and Morty, Harry Potter, and WWE crate packages.
