SINGLE REVIEW: Say You Love Me by SENANI

Emerging Australian music artist Senani has just released Say You Love Me, a genre-defying track that incorporates elements of soul, R&B, smooth jazz and world pop to create an alluring musical experience. The incredible success of Senani’s previous tracks which include Free and Voodoo Girl, launched this multi-faceted artist onto the global music scene. Free was number 1 for 6 weeks on Sri Lanka’s National radio station YES FM 101 with Senani’s song breaking the record for the longest stay in the number 1 spot by a female artist. Free was nominated for a Hollywood Music in Media Award in the R&B/Soul category in 2013, with the dance version of the track smashing into the top 20 UK Music Week charts in 2014. With over 30k YouTube views, Senani’s profile is just about to make another leap forward with the release of Say You Love Me. Exposed to the sounds of traditional South Asian/Indian music from a young age, Senani’s music defies categorisation and showcases an astounding music force, one that is borne of a spiritual essence which transforms her creations into accessible and universal musical experiences. Her spellbinding performance on Say You Love Me highlights Senani’s vocal prowess and astonishing three-octave vocal range but Senani is a true all-rounder, not only an amazing vocalist but a songwriter, producer and dancer with a unique take on her creativity. As Senani says about her musical style: ‘My music is diverse and I often fuse interesting instruments and cross genres from soul, R&B, funk to pop and fusion and even alternative rock’. As Senani has said about her creative process: ‘Most of my songs have been divinely inspired and channelled and I present positive energy and uplifting messages to my audience to help create a better world and happiness to those who hear it’. And that divine energy is palpable on Say You Love Me, an enticing ode to eternal and undying love, a sensuous and mesmerising song that will leave you exhilarated and inspired.
